About Me

I have been counselling for over 10 years and have worked in different settings, including schools, community-based organisations, vocational rehabilitation centres and now in private practice.

I have a particular interest in lifestyle balance and offer a holistic approach to counselling. I am a mother of two children, a 17-year-old and a 23-year-old, which is why I understand the challenges of juggling home and work life. When not at work I enjoy attending church, mountain biking, bush walking, travelling and spending time with family and friends.

Based on each clients’ situation and specific needs, I use a variety of evidence-based therapies, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACTs)
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
  • Narrative Therapy
  • Trauma- focussed Therapy
  • Person Centred Therapy
  • Solutions-focussed Therapy

My Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) (Psychology) (Charles Sturt University)
  • Bachelor of Arts (Psychology & Education) (Massey University, NZ)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling & Social Health (Working with Children and Families) (Macquarie University)
  • Advanced Diploma in Counselling and Family Therapy (AIFC)
  • Certificate in Fitness Management (Otago University, NZ)
